ANALYSES OF THE PUBLICALLY DEFENDED DISSERTATIONS IN THE FIELD OF SPECIAL PEDAGOGY IN BULGARIA (yy 1973 – 2014)

This article analyses of the publically defended PhD dissertations in the field of Special pedagogy.
The observed period comprises over 40 years of research beginning from 1973 up to 2014. This period was selected in view of the possibility to analyse and summarize scientific activity in this area.
The total number of dissertations during that period is 90.
The dissertations analysis provides additional information about the interest of specialists from various scientific backrounds in Special pedagogy, and represents the quality of PhD education in these universities.
