Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that enriches the real-world environment with digital content viewable through a mobile device or tablet. This paper examines the role of AR in the education of kindergarten children, with a focus on a short-term teacher training course. The training was conducted in Kindergarten No. 23 Iglika, Varna. It was aimed at introducing the theoretical background and practical mastering of the technology which improves the learning process. Software providing interactive resources for visualization and encouraging engagement such as EyeJack, CoSpaces Edu, QuiverVision and Merge Cube are presented. A feedback survey was conducted among the participants one year post the initial training and the results are also presented in the article.
