STRESS IN TEACHING PROFESSION AND COPING STRATEGIES

There is a widespread belief that work-related stress among teachers is serious, influencing teachers' health status and performance. This article explores the main stressors in teaching profession. Exploration is made, as well, of the environmental noise in the classrooms and its implications on teacher’s health.
The aim of this article is not only to provide and analyse the stress factors, but also to point out some strategies for coping with stress and pressure. Behavioral and psychological coping strategies are discussed. Finally, faith, hope and love were found to be significant for coping with stress and could complement the behavioral and cognitive coping strategies.
